How to glam it up? SIMPLE!
All you need to do is add some fun hardware to make it your own and feel more expensive! I’m partial to brass and slowly adding brass accents to our bedroom. (See the gorgeous brass mini round mirrors above our bed #swoon.) For our bedroom dressers, that double as nightstands because the room is huge and we need all the clothing storage we can get (even though we have a walk-in), I used these T-bar brass pulls that I got off Amazon. The weight feels luxurious and they’ve stood the test of time as they haven’t tarnished AT ALL. Win!
How to install hardware:
If you’re like my hubby who is an industrial designer/engineer, you pull out your trusty square (which is actually in the shape of a triangle) or T square and get to work. For the rest of us, I recommend using a mounting template for cabinet hardware like this one. Make sure to measure so the holes are aligned with one another and use the appropriate sized drill bit for the hardware screws provided with the hardware.
I’m in love with this glam, inexpensive dresser which serves as our nightstand and hubby couldn’t be more thrilled to have some extra space for his clothes. 😉 Don’t forget to take a look at my IKEA hack of the Besta unit as a dining room server here. I can’t believe your dressers are from IKEA! The hardware totally does the trick! I never remember to consider hardware asa modification or addition, but it is totally worth it.
I am all about brass hardware lately too! My hubby doesn’t seem to understand the obsession haha.
This is giving me so much inspiration for how I’ll decorate and DIY in my new home! I love how you totally glammed up your IKEA piece!
